B2 Gather feedback – how have you received feedback?

We used Padlet to share our ideas and our work with each other as an example we uploaded the link to our blogs so that we could give and receive feedback.  

  

Feedback could come from one person or many people, it is their thoughts and feelings about something you have created, feedback is essential because it allows the person receiving feedback to improve their work.  

  

Surveys can come in the form of a questionnaire are useful to find out the statistics of a specific topic. A survey that focuses on finding out what ages listen to certain music genres would allow the surveyor to find out what age they should be focusing on.  

  

Checklists are useful because they can help someone include everything properly and have some structure in their work. Checklists can be step by step guides or bullet points displaying valuable information or necessary pieces to embed into the work.  

  

Feedback from a classmate via my blog.  

“In my research in looking at Brad's blog, I couldn't find a logo, nor a link to his website, but I did find a picture of him working on the mixing desk.  
I also found a page full of lyrics that he wrote, giving anyone seeing them an insight of the style of music he makes.  

 
I think the EPK is full of detail and him listing his influences gives further info on the type of music he wants to make, which is useful.”   

  

This is the feedback I received about my blog it helped me understand what my blog was missing and what people are drawn to when looking at my blog. We set up Padlet so that we could share work and ideas amongst each other.  

  

  

  

Responding to feedback  

The feedback from my teacher was useful because it allows me to further attract my intended target audience (those in the metal scene) due to the colour coordination, typically black is the colour of metal. I have now created a logo as suggested in my feedback. I need to add some more footage of me operating the mixing desk and my overall experience in the studio and setting up microphones. 

  

I received feedback from my peers, and I have used it to further develop my blog, I have now created and included a website which was part of the feedback. The feedback I received was vague and not beneficial for improvements. 

 

If I didn’t receive any feedback, then I wouldn’t know what was missing or what needed improving upon. Constructive criticism is essential for anyone to be confident that they have included all the objectives and the necessary information required for the completion of the tasks. Unfortunately, the feedback I received from my blog wasn’t very helpful due to the lack of suggestions for improvements. However, my teacher has given me beneficial feedback to keep my work organised and made sure the information is relevant he has done this through one-to-one interviews and discussions. I have shown my music to a work colleague who is interested in similar music genres and likes the three major influential bands in my work, he said he hears the Linkin Park inspiration and likes what I have created. The composition I shown him is called ‘idea 4’ which I used inspiration from Linkin Park to create my composition, so this feedback was motivating.
